What’s cooler than being cool? The F-16 Fighting Falcon .

The jet — produced by Lockheed Martin right here in Greenville — was named “The Coolest Thing Made in South Carolina” in the SC Manufacturers Alliance’s bracket-style competition, SC Manufacturing Madness.

The second annual contest spanned two months, and started with 246 nominated products. The top 16 made the bracket, and weekly votes were cast (220,000+ total) to narrow down the winner.

Among the final four were also two other Upstate manufacturers:

Way to go, Lockheed Martin, GE Vernova, and Electrolux Home Products Inc.
