Cutting through Woodruff Rd traffic

Upstate Business Journal

City officials are about to start construction on a new road that will cut down on Woodruff Road traffic by more than 20% (bless 🙌)...because it shouldn’t take longer to get to Trader Joe’s than it does to decide which cheese to buy.

So who can we all thank for this new road/huge improvement? Piedmont Natural Gas had plans to create a half-mile access road behind Target for quick access in an emergency situation, and when they told the city, they jumped at the opportunity to make it public.

Piedmont and Verdae properties, Greenville city, county and Greenville Legislative Delegation Transportation Committee have all chipped in towards the $3.7 million cost. They hope to collect the final $400,000 needed from Woodruff Road businesses.
