With ‘fauxlidays’ like the recent National Pigs in a Blanket Day (April 24) and National Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day (Jan. 22; not sure how that works), it may not surprise you that there’s an entire week dedicated to something really worth celebrating: craft beer.

American Craft Beer Week is May 13-18, 2019. Founded in 2006 by The Brewers Association, the week celebrates craft brewers (and drinkers) across the country. We’re on board with that.

And to coordinate with this prime craft beer time, Lowes Foods is hosting “Beer Hunting Season,” a photo contest for the best pics of Carolina Craft Beer “in the wild,” now through May 10. See rules here. đŸ» Five winners will get to go on a brewery hop in Raleigh/Durham with hotel stay, lunch, dinner + VIP tix to a Durham Bulls game. (Last year, two winners were from COLA + GVL – so we’re saying there’s a chance.)

To get you started on beer hunting, here are 10 Carolina craft brews that are must-try’s in our book (many of which are available at Lowes Foods’ Beer Den):

Happy hunting. Ⓟ
