This plate of garlic shrimp is the deal of the century for $10.99 at Viva Villa Mexican Grill on Greenville’s Eastside. The sauce? Made from scratch. The rice? Pretty much perfect arroz a la Mexicana. Guac salad? A fresh and creamy topper.

A side of tortillas arrives with your food too, if you want to wrap it all up (but I simply dive in with a fork). The location has seen many a restaurant concept but I think Viva Villa has found its home.

It is clean, well appointed with friendly staff and timely kitchen. Look around the dining room and you’ll see a cross-section of Greenville. This is a good sign in my book. They’re open everyday for lunch and dinner (even on Sunday and Monday). And, this little eatery knows how to do social media. Check them out on Instagram for weekly specials.
