It’s finally open… today. The much-anticipated field-to-fork restaurant by last year’s S.C. Chef Ambassador William Cribb and his partner Raj Patel is open for business, aptly named The Kennedy for its East Kennedy St address, which ever so slightly pushes the boundaries of what’s considered downtown Spartanburg.

Who’s in the kitchen is notable too, it’s William’s brother Jamie after a long stint at the likes of Wild Olive in John’s Island and other notable CHS restaurants. So will there be handmade pasta? You bet and lots of S.C.-raised produce and proteins, along with an agri-centric wine list and gorgeous cocktails all in a space that can only be described as: posh.

I was lucky enough to taste their opening menu and it’s phenomenal. Lots of plates to share (and plates to horde) like this Beef Carpaccio that I COULD NOT STOP EATING. If you’re a fan of Rhubarb in AVL or The Anchorage in GVL, then make plans to eat dinner at The Kennedy… like now.
