There are so many reasons to people Rocket Surgery in downtown TR:

1- It’s owned by Sidewall Pizza

2- The company’s new Exec Chef is none other than Steven Musolf, known for his mad talent at The Lazy Goat and Passerelle (and married to pastry chef extraordinaire and SC Chef Ambassador Teryi Youngblood)

3- No heavy-handed concept at Rocket Surgery means leave your flapper dress in the closet and simply enjoy a really delish cocktail

4- Your drink will taste the same no matter who makes it; the bar is consistently good

5- Rocket Surgery is open on Mondays, not kidding, don’t fall over

And there are hot donut holes at brunch. They are the size of my fist and are magnificent. Cooked to order, you must eat them immediately because they are perfect and somehow a cross of the best beignet you’ve ever had with the interior of a popover. They are glazed with maple and bacon and doused with cinnamon sugar.

Yes, they pair perfectly with a cocktail.
