For those following a restrictive diet even ordering an appetizer at a fine dining restaurant can feel daunting, but look here: gluten-free fried calamari. The deft hand of Chef Nick Graves accomplishes this (and more) at Hotel Domestique’s flagship eatery Restaurant 17.
Perfectly light and crispy, it’s hard to imagine that this squid is not gluten-laden. Ideally sauced and herbaciously topped, it could make a meal for one or a great neighbor aside fantastic charcuterie (and a gorgeous cocktail of course). Need wheat-free crackers and bread? That’s no problem either. Call ahead and Pastry Chef Meghan Neal will knock your socks off with both.

It’s time to put Restaurant 17 back on your BucketDish.
