Every time you drive by the I-85/I-385 interchange these days, you see construction crews cranking out new bridges and roadways to help ease the pain of our future commutes. Simply put, they’ve gotten a ton done in the last 18 months...but there’s more to come.

What’s been completed?

✅ I-385 north and southbound ramp lanes widened (Butler Road to Woodruff Road)

✅ I-385 North and South ramps to Woodruff Rd

✅ The first of 12 bridges (Woodruff Rd to I-385 north)

✅ Chrome Road shifted

✅ Pipes installed along 85 and 385

What’s coming down the pipeline
(er, highway?):

⚠️ 10 new bridges

⚠️ Remove tight loop ramps and replace with “flyovers”

⚠️ I-385 widened to 3 lanes

⚠️ Woodruff to Pelham on 85 widened to 4 lanes

⚠️ Replace the bridge on Roper Mtn. Road above 85

⚠️ Garlington Road overpasses improved and widened

Check out the project’s website to stay up-to-date on lane closures and the construction progress.
