Greenville City Council approved a resolution for potentially the largest redevelopment downtown: turning County Square into a multi-county business park, which will enable developers to qualify for tax breaks. (Six proposals have been submitted so far and only three were approved.)

In exchange, Greenville County promised to build a $15 million public parking garage in the West End to benefit the redevelopment as well as *much needed* parking for Fluor Field, the Warehouse Theatre, and West End restaurants/shops.

The garage is funded by the city Tax Increment Funding district revenue from the West End. The garage will be owned and operated by the city – the county will not keep any parking generated revenue.

The call for submissions closes Wednesday, April 15.
