City Editor Danielle here. 👋I checked out the new Viva Chicken location on Pelham Road and discovered why Greenville should be excited there are now two locations. Whether you’re looking for a bowl, salad, sandwich, or wrap, Viva Chicken serves up fresh + flavorful Peruvian food. Here’s how you can Try This (including how to get free food).
What we tried (with pricing):
Viva Chicken’s menu
focuses on fresh ingredients, authentic Peruvian spices + slow-roasted chicken with a host of vegetarian options. I tried the Pollo a la Brasa (Peruvian rotisserie chicken) with plantains + green beans ($9.55), the Naked Peruvian wrap ($8.95), and the Arroz Chaufa — a fried rice dish ($7.95).
I washed it down with a Maracuya ($3.25+) and finished with a churro ($3.50).
The chicken is flavorful, fresh + juicy, and whether you order it as your entree or add it to your salad, wrap, or fried rice, it hits the spot.
What not to miss:
Don’t miss the juice options. You may be quick to order your usual fountain drinks, but Viva Chicken’s fruit juices are delicious. The Maracuya — or passion fruit — is my favorite.
What we’re still talking about:
You also may be quick to skip dessert, especially after eating a fresh, healthy meal, but don’t sleep on the tres leches (white sponge cake soaked in three milks). It’s my husband’s favorite item on the menu. Another fav: the churro (caramel filled, coated in cinnamon and sugar).
Fun fact: $0.50 from each churro is donated to No Kid Hungry .
How you can experience this:
Before you drop by Viva Chicken Pelham Road (3624 Pelham Rd.) or Viva Chicken Woodruff Road (1139 Woodruff Rd.) be sure to download the Viva Chicken App . Every time you scan, you earn points towards rewards (think: free food).
