They don’t call us Greenville for nothing. The ~1 mile stretch of medians on North Main street received 27 new dogwood trees , thanks to the City of Greenville.
City Councilman John DeWorken says these medians are the “pride of North Main,” and residents love driving down the road and seeing the dogwoods blooming in the spring.
To protect Greenville’s tree canopy , trees that have aged out are replaced with new ones. Additionally, the city aims to plant 1,000 trees per year in city parks + raise public awareness by doing tree giveaways.
The city says it will continue to “plant in public spaces” in 2024.
