It’s time for hurricanes – the good kind

mardi gras party

Although we would love to stroll Bourbon Street sipping a Fish bowl + eating a beignet on Fat Tuesday, sometimes we can’t get our way. So we found some Mardi Gras parties to enjoy, GVL-style.

Where to celebrate on February 13:

  • Gottrocks | 9 p.m. | Karaoke is perfect for every holiday 😉
  • Grateful Brew | 5 - 8 p.m. | A special menu is coming to pair perfectly with a cold beer
  • LTO Burger Bar | 5 - 10 p.m. | A Fat Tuesday bash complete with their very own Hurricanes 🍹
  • The Lost Cajun is offering half off Abita beers all day 🍺
  • The Pumphouse | 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. | Live music + plenty of drinks to celebrate

There is one thing that Mardi Gras isn’t complete without (and we’re not talking about the beads) – King Cake. 🍰 Instead of having a cake shipped from New Orleans or relying on Google translator for French recipes, we have you covered. And if you’re anything like us you just want to get to the center for the prize.

  • Le Petit Croissant | $14.95+ | Call 864-520-1555 | Provide a 24 hour notice.
  • Buttercream Bakehouse | $35 | Call 864-313-1816 | While you’re there, check out their Polish Paczki doughnuts.
  • The Bakery Off Augusta offers a cinnamon pecan King Cake | $14; $16 with filling | Call 864-282-8580 | 24-48 hour notice.
  • Swamp Rabbit Cafe | $24 | Contact Kat at kat@swamprabbitcafe.com to place orders. | Place your order 2 days prior to your desired pick up.

Be safe, have fun. And more importantly, don’t forget your feathered mask!
