PLBtoday doesn’t have the same ring to it, does it? Don’t worry, GVLtoday isn’t going anywhere. We’re just imagining what it would be like if this publication started in the 1700s — when Greenville was originally named Pleasantburg.

Or, more specifically, a man named Lemuel Alston established a village called Pleasantburg around the area we now call Greenville.

This begs the question: If Greenville went by any other name, what would it be? Let us know.
