As the weather gets warmer and our allergies flare up, let’s cling to the best parts of spring in our city — the blooms. Here’s where to pick your own near Greenville.
Dirt & Grit | It’s the third season for this tulip farm, with stems available until sold out.
Callaham Orchards | Check this farm’s Facebook to confirm u-pick tulips are available when you want to visit.
Thompson Family Farms | Beginning tomorrow, you can stroll the blooming tulip fields as you cut your own stems. Rabbit Crest Farms | Every Friday night starting March 27, pick specialty spring flowers like ranunculus, poppies, and anemone.
The Peony Fields | In April, this farm opens with 50 varieties of peonies planted over 14 fields that together cover about 2.5 acres.
Sassafrass | Starting in May, enjoy u-pick on select nights as you listen to live music in the flower fields.
Beginning with “Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2,” big, beautiful, and thrilling. Then a Chickasaw legend blazes to life in Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate’s “Spider Brings Fire.” It all closes with “Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite,” complete with stunning canyon visuals soaring above the stage.
Greenville City Council officially gave the “Baby Bi-Lo” at 505 N. Main St. abandoned building status, which unlocks state tax credits. Developers have plans to build “N. Main,” a $17.75 million renovation transforming the long-vacant shopping center. (Greenville Journal)
