Court Street could soon be transformed. Design plans were approved for an eight-story building with street-level restaurants and retail and seven floors of offices. The 0.4-acre site neighbors 300 E. McBee Ave., and the city is also exploring a pedestrian-only section with an all-weather market and event space.

Plans are moving forward for an $18.4 million redevelopment of the former North Main Bi-Lo into Class A commercial space known as N. Main. Greenville City Council reviewed an abandoned-building designation tied to state tax credits, with a vote expected Monday, March 9. (Greenville Journal)

Greenville City Council approved $3 million to kick off the long-planned City Hall renovation. The funding will cover design and engineering, with plans expected this spring. Construction on the 53-year-old Main Street building is slated to begin in early 2027 and take about 18 months. (Greenville Journal)

A new boutique hotel is proposed for downtown at 101 College St., replacing the former Cafe and Then Some while honoring its history as a comedy dinner theater and 1920s car dealership. The 17-room Banter Hotel would feature a restaurant, rooftop bar, and speakeasy. Plans are expected to go before the Greenville Design Review Board this April.

Coastal Precast Systems is investing $9 million to open its first SC operation in Clinton, bringing 70 new jobs to Laurens County.
