These new pieces of public art were made by contemporary sculptor Jeffie Brewer, a Texas-based artist known for vibrant and whimsical steel sculptures, and placed throughout city parks.

Emmanuel Baptist Church near Mills Avenue could become ~31 workforce apartments. Developers want to preserve the historic architecture while reconstructing the interior with units targeting residents earning 80% or less of the area’s median income. If approved, construction is expected to finish in 2027. (Upstate Business Journal)
Civic
The City of Greenville is rezoning the Haynie-Sirrine neighborhood under the new development code. The Planning Commission will review the rezoning Nov. 6, with City Council approval expected by the end of the year. (Greenville Journal)

Take a tour inside the Nicholtown Community Center, which is currently undergoing a $5 million upgrade with new recreation space, meeting rooms, and Greenville’s first resiliency hub — a resource for supplies and support during disasters. An opening is set for next year.
