The Black Sheep, a fine dining restaurant, will open Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the corner of North Main and Stone (in the former Two Chefs space).
Chef Danielle Grigorian says the eatery will take an “innovative approach” to Mediterranean cuisine, blending influences from Spain and Morocco to Lebanon and Armenia. The menu will honor Grigorian’s heritage while “pushing culinary boundaries.”
In addition to the menu, you can sip on craft cocktails in the lounge and at the full bar.
Our favorite part: Grigorian’s background as a former interior designer allowed her to personally design the restaurant, which she says is also a reflection of her love for design.
The Black Sheep will be open Tuesday-Saturday for dinner service + Sunday for brunch.

Urbana Churro Cafe is now open on Poinsett Highway in the former Block & Marley Market, serving tortas, breakfast burritos, custom lattes, and of course, churros. The father-and-son team behind Cucho’s Taco Grille reimagined the space into a churreria, inspired by their travels to Mexico. (Upstate Business Journal)

Each summer, when Earth passes through the trail left by Comet Swift-Tuttle, we can see the Perseids Meteor Shower.
According to the Roper Mountain Science Center, “The meteors blaze through Earth’s atmosphere at over 130,000 miles per hour, burning into flashes of different colors depending on the element inside:"
🔴 = oxygen and nitrogen
🟠 = sodium
🟡 = iron
🔵 = magnesium
🟣 = calcium
The shower produces up to 75 meteors per hour and peaks now through Sunday, Aug. 24, with the best nights to view on Tuesday, Aug. 12 + Wednesday, Aug. 13.
