Remember when we gave you an inside look at the Arden Woods Master Plan community? It’s about to have a new neighbor: The Shops at Arden Woods, a mixed retail development anchored by a brand new Publix.

The 66,387-sqft shopping center will consist of two ancillary shops buildings in addition to the Publix Super Market. Construction is already underway, with Publix expected to open this August and the rest of The Shops coming later this year.

The best part? Arden Woods by Ryan Homes still has plenty of homes available, meaning more opportunities to live walking distance from The Shops, and your next Pub Sub.

ICYMI, here’s what else you can expect as an Arden Woods Resident:

Fun fact: Arden Woods is built on an old golf course. Developers preserved some of the golf cart paths, including a tunneled path leading straight to The Shops at Arden Woods.

Tour Arden Woods by Ryan Homes to see available Townhomes, Villas, and Estates, and find your next home. The community also boasts amenities like:
  • Walking trails + a community garden
  • Multiple dog parks
  • A junior Olympic pool
  • Kids’ playgrounds
  • A fishing pond
  • Fire pits
Stay tuned for more updates, and let us know what you’d like to see at The Shops.

A new fiscal year is on the horizon. | Photo by @james_simpson_photography
What’s in the City of Greenville’s upcoming budget? City Council reviewed a draft during a workshop on Monday, April 14.

“While this will be a lean budget year, every dollar is purposefully allocated to bolster our emergency services, enhance public safety, and promote the overall well-being of our residents,” said City Manager Shannon Lavrin.

Lavrin explained the city is taking a conservative approach this year due to economic uncertainty, and no tax or business license increases are proposed for the fiscal year (starting July 1).

A second budget workshop is set for Monday, April 28, with a public hearing and first reading on Monday, May 12. A final vote is scheduled for Monday, May 19.

The Buy

The best pet supply products to simplify at-home care and keep your fur baby happy:

🐾 Pet ear wipes are a quick, one-step solution to make sure pets don’t develop problems caused by build-up.
🐾 This cat + dog steam brush de-sheds better than plain brushes or combs, thanks to hair-attracting steam.
🐾 Eager to avoid expensive teeth cleaning? Once-a-week dental wipes can get you there without tangling with a toothbrush.
🐾 Swapping water bowls for a pet water fountain keeps water filtered and fresh — and pets tend to love drinking from it.
🐾 As seen on TV, Muddy Mats are designed to trap dirt, mud, and sand from paws, keeping entryways clean — no toweling off required.

The Wrap

GVL_Danielle_Wrap_NOV2024
The South Carolina New Play Festival announced the lineup for this year’s festival, taking place Thursday, Aug. 7-Sunday, Aug. 10. There’s a lot to look forward to this year. I’m most excited about the cabaret starring Mary Kate Morrisey, who just finished a two-year run as Elphaba in “Wicked” + “My Favorite Sociopath,” a new play by Aurin Squire exploring how media seeks to get the most eyes on a story.
