The new Spinx Market + Eatery needs your help naming its mascot. The giant dog can be found painted on the wall near the bathrooms + on various merchandise items on the market’s branding. Drop your suggestion in the comments. Not that we’re trying to sway your votes, but here at GVLtoday, we’re fans of Stewie or Stew in honor of Spinx founder Stewart Spinks.

Let’s get to the root of debris. Yesterday, we told you the last round of debris clean up will take place on Monday, Dec. 9. Bryan Beal, founder of the Innovative Hospitality and Development Group (IHDG), toured an old mill in Fountain Inn over three years ago. Now, he’s operating a brewery on the site + will open a food hall today.

Located at the corner of Ellison and Wall Streets, just steps from Fountain Inn’s Main Street., the old flour mill — which is on the National Register of Historic Places — houses three tin-clad wood structures. They’ve been restored with an emphasis on preserving the site’s history + repurposing original materials in the process.

The Mill at Fountain Inn will open three new food concepts at 11 a.m. today. Get ready to indulge in:
  • Sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, poké + rice bowls from Bingbi Sushi
  • Birria tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and ramen from Birria Boy
  • Appetizers, soups + salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, hot dogs from Bistro 44

The Wrap

This lineup for the mushroom showdown features many of my favorite chefs in Greenville. I’m especially excited for the competition between husband and wife chef duo Ryan and Gianna Smutzki. They are both fierce competitors, and I am thankful to reap the benefits when I taste their mushroom-y dishes.
