Bryan Beal, founder of the Innovative Hospitality and Development Group, toured an old mill in Fountain Inn over three years ago. Now, he’s preparing to open his brewery on the site, bringing new life to the historic property.
Located at the corner of Ellison and Wall Streets, just steps from Fountain Inn’s Main Street, the old flour mill — which is on the National Register of Historic Places — consists of three tin-clad wood structures. They’ve been restored with an emphasis on preserving the site’s history + repurposing original materials in the process.

Then: The Ellison Flour Mill
Now: Fountain Inn Brewing Co.
This three-story, 5,000-sqft building will house a new original brewery concept. Guests will be able to grab craft beer, or wine and cocktails, at the bars — yes, plural — with service offered on both the first and second level. Plus, pair your drinks with pizza, shareables, and salads.
The second story will also be available as a private event space.
Then: The auction house
Now: Indoor seating
The middle building (2,830-sqft) will offer more indoor seating with access to a green space. Get ready to watch movies and sporting events on the outdoor big screen (which is among the biggest, if not the biggest, in Greenville County).
Then: The repair shop
Now: The food hall
As part of the next phase, opening in fall 2024, a 6,000-sqft food hall (like IHDG’s other concept Vaughn’s Food Hall in Simpsonville) will take over the former repair shop building on the far side of the property, offering families even more dining options.
Follow @themillatfountaininn for an official opening announcement, which is expected later this week.

Curb Appeal: Spring + summer edition
Curb Appeal: Share your home’s best spring + summer outdoor features
Do you find yourself binge watching HGTV outdoor shows and scrolling Pinterest for backyard inspiration? We sure have, and it got us thinking: Some of our readers have impressive outdoor oases.
We’re bringing back Curb Appeal, our seasonal callout for the best home displays. We’ve previously published this series for Halloween decor, but this time we want to see your best spring and summer set ups:
Do you have the best barbecue on the block?
Is the entire neighborhood stopping by your house for a swim?
Are you a home gardener fully in your spring planting era?
Do you spend your summer nights on the perfect porch?
Is your fire pit the envy of your street?
We’ll share our favorite submissions in a future newsletter to help Greenvillians get design inspiration to take their own homes and gardens to the next level. Oh, and the Editors’ Pick will get $25 to Six & Main.
I’ve been trying to improve my backyard since I moved in over two years ago, so I selfishly need this design inspiration from Curb Appeal. Ever since we bought a glider + two chairs at the Palmetto Craft warehouse sale this spring, I’ve been eager to spruce up the space. If you win, you could put your $25 gift card toward a Palmetto Craft product on Six & Main.
