A food and drink tour of Bon Secours Wellness Arena

POV: It’s Friday night and your favorite artist is taking over Bon Secours Wellness Arena for their latest tour. You plan a night out with your best friends, but instead of getting a bite to eat before you arrive, you decide to eat at the arena. Thanks to this guide to eating and drinking at The Well, you know exactly what you’re getting for dinner.
Danielle here. I went to the Thomas Rhett concert on a mission to experience the best of the food and beverage offerings at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. While a hot dog, pretzel, and lite beer can hit the spot, I branched out from my usual arena food, and here’s everything I tried.

Craft cocktails
In addition to craft beer and wine offerings around the arena, you’ll find liquor carts and stands mixing your favorite drinks, plus specialty cocktails — different events call for different cocktails, crafted in-house by The Well’s food and beverage team.
For Thomas Rhett, I sipped on “The Sweet + Sassy Margarita” — pictured in the center — made with Dos Primos Tequila (Thomas Rhett’s celebrity liquor brand), pineapple juice, triple sec, local blackberries, Hawaiian pineapple, and of course, a Tajín rim.

Reedy River Roost
It’s hard to pick a favorite at The Well, but I would say the Reedy River Roost has the most creative menu offerings in the arena. Feast on buffalo chicken totchos, chicken and waffles, and bird dogs (read: chicken tenders prepared in a hot dog bun and topped).

School might be out for the summer, but there’s a lot going on at Greer High School. In case you missed it, construction is officially underway on The Branch at Greer High.
Greenville Federal Credit Union announced its second student-run high school branch earlier this year. This new branch will join The Branch at Greenville High — which is entering its eighth school year in operation — in bringing real-world financial literacy and education to Greenville-area students.
Greer High School students, faculty, and staff will have daily access to the financial services provided by the student-run branch, set to open the first week of school, while student employees will gain hands-on experience and preparation for their future careers, plus course credit.
While the branch is being built, the students who will run it are getting ready. These selected students receive 100+ hours of training through a paid summer internship, which includes classroom and on-the-job training at Greenville Federal Credit Union’s four main locations. By the end of the summer, students will be able to handle cash transactions, open new accounts, and implement growth strategies through marketing plans of their own.

Palmetto Seafood Shrimp Broil | Baileigh Reardon
Gather GVL is bringing the beach to you with its new concept, Palmetto Seafood. Owned and run by Chef Baileigh Reardon — the owner of Mama Mozzarella — this restaurant will be a “build your own seafood boil.” Think: crab, shrimp, crawfish, and other oceanic favorites.
Chef Baileigh has been cooking since high school and credits his grandmother and mom for his love of cooking. Although he has cooked in several cities, he says his experience as a junior sous chef in the Charleston restaurant scene rubbed off on him the most. Baileigh’s love of seafood comes from his experiences chef-ing on Isle of Palms, where he and his family would vacation and share a seafood boil.
Palmetto Seafood is slated to open Friday, July 21. We can’t wait to try the fish and chips with tartar sauce and hush puppies, and pretend we’re on the beach while we do.
There was only so much room in my stomach as I toured the arena for the best bites, but I already know the first thing I’m trying the next time I visit for an event: the warm doughnut gelato sandwich at the gelato cart. Yes, please.
