The space
Having broken ground in April 2021, BridgeWay Station covers 400,000+ sqft. Here’s how it breaks down:
210,824 sqft of residential space
81,000 sqft of institutional development space
75,000 sqft of office space
69,939 sqft of retail space
24,691 sqft of public plaza and open air pavilion space
In addition to the square footage and 5+ acres of park space, BridgeWay Station will also feature a pedestrian bridge connecting to the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail.

Greenville’s history has also served as inspiration, with historic structures like the Southern Depot Station tower being replicated in the open air pavilion. The original tower, built in 1905 on Washington Street, was demolished in 1988.

Mountain biking’s back at Conestee 🚲
New mountain biking trail network to open at Conestee Nature Preserve
Ready to hit the trails? Photo via Conestee Nature Preserve
It’s official — mountain biking is back at Conestee Nature Preserve (840 Mauldin Rd.) with the opening of the first phase of a new trail network on Sunday, Jan. 15.
Since mountain biking was prohibited at the Preserve in 2020 to avoid conflicts with non-biking trail users, its trails team has been working on a new network just for bikers. Phase one encompasses 3+ miles, and phase two — which opens later this year — features .5 miles.
Where are the trails?
The network is located in Brushy Creek — formerly called Breazeale Farm, in the non-contiguous northern section of the Preserve.

How was this location chosen?
Conestee Nature Preserve says this area is seldom used by most visitors and was chosen to separate bikers and pedestrians. Plus, with more focus and activity, more conservation projects (think: trail cleanups) can be implemented.
Click below for more about the project and how the Preserve will continue to protect its wildlife.
Editor’s pick: The open air plaza at BridgeWay Station has me so excited sip on a coffee or BridgeWay Brewing Co. beer al fresco alongside my pup, Pinto. Of course, while we wait for it to finish up, we’ll visit our usual haunts like Double Stamp Brewery and Unleashed Dog Bar. What are some of your favorite dog-friendly restaurants and businesses around Greenville? Let me know.
