Woven, a multi-use development in the Village of West Greenville, received final annexation approval from Greenville City Council this week — paving way for the development to break ground by the end of the year.
Plans for the property — located between Pendleton, Saco, and Traction Streets with Smith Street running up the center — were first unveiled in June 2022, moving to this week’s City Council agenda after months of revisions with the City’s Planning Commission and the Design Review Board Urban Panel.
The latest plans for 12 parcels of land include:
214 multi-family units with 20% (44) of the units categorized as affordable housing
30,000 sqft of commercial space for restaurants, retail, artist galleries, and other uses
3,000 sqft of space dedicated to "representative retail” like start-up entrepreneurs and small business owners
A public park across from Saco Street to Traction Street featuring a relocated and restored historic Morgan House
Infrastructure improvements on Pendleton, Saco, Smith, and Traction Streets
The approval came with amendments, including that any additional housing units added to Woven will be affordable housing. There are also requirements that developers meet with the community to discuss things like the building’s facade and signage.

From my very first taste of Sum Bar last year (opening its brick and mortar location later this month) to finally getting my hands on a Scout’s Doughnut this past fall to indulging in a San Diego-style breakfast burrito from Daylight Burrito last weekend — what can I say, I love the chase. What’syour favorite pop-up? Let me know what I have to try next.
