Greenville has the green light to expand trolley routes

Greenville News

Greenville’s fare-free trolley system is getting upgraded. The city just added two new vehicles and routes which plan to service locals and visitors this summer. You can now hitch a ride to and from the Village of West Greenville (our office is pumped), and also from Augusta Rd./Cleveland Park neighborhoods to the zoo.

The trolleys will remain fare-free even with the new additions, but will remain funded through the city’s hospitality tax. The city budget director estimates the operating costs for the new trolleys to reach $200,000. Final votes for the amended routes will be tallied on the 24th of this month and the trolleys should be functional between May and October.
