Millions of consumers fall victim to the ticket resale market every year and Greenville is not immune. Attendees of the Peace Center occasionally over pay for tickets or get turned away at the door because the tickets they purchased online were sold by a third-party ticketing company.

By inflating prices and scamming buyers, the U.S. ticket resale market has become a booming business worth approximately $5 billion dollars. Avoid the inflated prices and questionable seating by cutting out the middleman and buying directly from the Peace Center.

We made you a ‘How To’ guide so you can make sure you are getting the fair price for the upcoming Broadway season.

  1. Always buy directly from the Peace Center. “If you purchase tickets from a third party website, we can’t contact you with info about the show (date or time changes, traffic notices, etc.),” said Tara McNamara, Director of Public Relations. “We can’t even guarantee that your ticket is real.”

Not only will you get updates on your upcoming shows but you will be guaranteed to pay face value for the tickets, be able to choose your exact seating location, and have direct customer support from staff when you purchase straight from the venue.

  1. There are only three ways to buy tickets from the Peace Center.
  • Call 864.467.3000 or 800.888.7768
  • Go to www.peacecenter.org It’s the only official online retailer for Peace Center tickets.
  • Head down to the Peace Center Box Office to buy your tickets in person Monday through Saturday from 10 am – 6 pm. at 300 S Main St.
  • PRO TIP: Websites like peacecentergreenville.ticketoffices.com are third-party websites. Be sure to skip past the Google Ads if Googling the venue.
  1. If you think the tickets are too expensive you are probably in the wrong place. “We often still have less expensive tickets available in a better seating location than what you will find elsewhere,” McNamara said. If you still decide to buy from a third party provider always check the box office before purchasing.
  2. Never assume a show is sold out despite what the buzz on the street is. You should always check with the Peace Center about potential availability before going to a third-party site. This allows you to get better seating, better pricing, better service, and a better bang for your buck.
  3. Here’s the upcoming Broadway season public on sale schedule.
  • Aug 4th – The Bodyguard
  • Aug 11th- Fun Home
  • Sept 1st- Les Misérables
  • Sept 8th – School of Rock
  • Sept 22nd- On Your Feet!
  • Oct 6th- The Phantom of the Opera
  • Nov 10th- The Color Purple
  • Nov 10th- The Waitress
  • Nov 10th- Love Never Dies
  1. Pro Tip: If someone says they have tickets to Hamilton… They really, really don’t. Hamilton will be a part of the 2018-2019 Broadway season and those tickets are not yet on sale to the public or season ticket holders.
