As a working mom, I don’t have much free time to go grab a craft brew with friends. But when I do, I feel kind of guilty bringing a sitter in (I like to save that lifeline for a fancier night out). Thanks to multiple kid-friendly breweries and taprooms in our area, though, I’ve hit the parenting sweet spot in Greenville. All of these locations are dog-friendly, too, so bring your fur babies, too!

Birds Fly South – One taste of the Rustic Sunday while I watched my kid play with other little ones and I knew we’d be returning. This is a weekend favorite, and the addition of the delicious tacos at White Duck just makes it that much easier for us to make an afternoon of it. Look for King of Pops to make a stop in the summer, too!

Swamp Rabbit Brewery – Tucked in line on Main St in TR, Swamp Rabbit surprised me with their offerings. Tastings that let you take the glass home after and a rotating food truck schedule just add to the appeal. And (if you’re into it), they’re right off the Swamp Rabbit Trail- easy access for a cycling break.

Thomas Creek – We ventured in here after seeing a live band advertised, and fell in love. The brews are available all over the place locally, so I’d had the beer before…but hanging out at the source was way better. The backdrop of brewery tours chatter, growlers filling, and pups playing made us feel like a part of some great community secret.
