Earlier this month, we told you about 7 developments coming to Greenville (including the massive Judson Mill project + new townhomes off Augusta). Then, we asked you what questions you have: What’s going in the vacant property next door? What’s happening at Conestee Mill? We did our best to find some answers.

“What’s happening at the corner near Heritage Green? Drove by the corner across from CLINE building on College Street (SC 183). Lot is demolished.” Ruta F.

  • It’s part of the Holbrook of Greenvillea 237-unit upscale assisted living facility proposed for 2.92 acres at the intersection of Atwood Street/Butler Ave. and Buncombe Street.

“Saw the Rafferty’s property sold after their restaurant fire, and they are not reopening there. Where are they reopening? And who bought the property of the old location?”Anthony S.

  • We know the building won’t be a restaurant. The property has been sold and it appears to be owned by 600 Congaree LLC (owned by a Greer businessman). There’s no word yet on plans for the space but we’ll keep you updated. There’s also no word on if or when Rafferty’s will reopen.

“Seems that Conestee Mill has been purchased and they have started construction. Any ideas on time frames for completion and what’s going to live there?” Jim R.

  • This property is truly stunning. Built in the 1800s to create our state’s first mill village, the mill closed in 1973 and was purchased last year for redevelopment for $1.7 million. The new owners plan to put residences in 60,000 square feet of space + find new commercial uses for ~15,000 square feet in five other buildings. The mill sits at the southern terminus of the Greenville Health System’s Swamp Rabbit Trail. (Upstate Business Journal)

Do you know what’s going in the old bread store at 1560 Wade Hampton Blvd. (corner of Wade Hampton + White Oak Drive)?”Heather N.

  • The property will be an attorney’s office. Thanks to Stan T. for letting us know.

“Curious if you’ve heard what’s being built on Woodruff Road in front of Larkspur Pointe Apartments, near Lowes Foods? Looks like a restaurant maybe... Also we’ve heard a Chick-fil-A is coming to Five Forks as well.” Lea Ann M.

  • She answered her own question: “Apparently the building I mentioned at Five Forks is going to be a new dental office.” No word on the Chick-Fil-A but if you hear more about it, shoot us an email.

“I noticed when I was eating at Roost a couple of weeks ago that the old Blue Ridge Brewery site is undergoing some major renovations. Do you know what’s going in there?” - Jennifer C.

  • We’ve been wondering the same thing. There’s been work to update the exterior but we haven’t heard if there’s a retailer or restaurant going into the space. Know something? Share with us.
