Meet the royalty of ride-sharing, the Uber Queena well-known ride share driver in Clemson and surrounding areas. 👑

She’s been driving with Uber for three years, and after 6,000+ rides – her positivity, sense of humor, the tiger head in her backseat (only on Clemson game days), and her Uber Guestbook have gained notoriety.

Uber Queen (yes, everyone actually calls her that) is a single mom of three, full-time student at Tri-County Technical College, manager of the Map the Hill radio station and full-time driver. She has a lot on her plate – but she takes the time to care for her riders as if they were her own family.

We’d heard a lot about this regal ride-share driver and wanted to learn more about her story.

Q&A with the Uber Queen:

How did you become the Uber Queen?

“My kids call me Queen and I decided that my name, my first name that I don’t go by, is quite difficult. So since I’m their Queen I figured I’d be Uber’s Queen.”

What’s the most annoying thing an Uber rider could do?

“Try to give me directions to somewhere that there’s no need for directions.” Ahem – did you see that note about 6,000 rides? This isn’t her first trip around the block.

Why is it important for you to have such a positive attitude?

Uber Queen and her family have been through a number of hardships. Now, she feels like it’s important to maintain a positive outlook on life. “I will always be me and I will always speak positivity into others, speak positive affirmations into others.”

She also remains focused on what’s important at the end of the day. “I failed a test, I can retake it. I broke a shoe, I can go buy a new pair. I wrecked my car but I’m alive.”

“If you teach kids positivity and teach them how to deal with an issue, you’re raising a better generation. And I feel like my riders are like my kids. So I have to reaffirm them and I have to speak positive affirmations to them as well.”

What’s the Uber Queen theme song?

“I have two. One is G.O.A.T.,” (which she proceeded to rap for us) “and then Lizzo of course – like any Lizzo song.” If you dig her music taste, be sure to check out her Spotify playlist here.

If you want to know more about the Uber Queen (or you just need a dose of positivity this Monday morning) check our Instagram story later today for some clips of our time with the Queen.

While you can’t request a ride with the Uber Queen – you’ll catch her in different parts of the Upstate (particularly when there’s an event like a Clemson football game or a festival in downtown Greenville). Let us know if you’ve been lucky enough to land a ride with the Uber Queen.
