🟠 Orange you glad we have an update
Based on the project timeline, the connection will be bid for construction next summer. | Photo by the City of Greenville
Plans for the Swamp Rabbit Trail Orange Line connection through North Main have shifted after community feedback and a city study. Originally designed as a continuous neighborhood link, the project is now focusing on safer crossings at Rutherford Road and Wade Hampton Boulevard.

Rather than building new trail segments through neighborhoods, the city plans to rely on existing bike lanes and sidewalks to complete connections — prioritizing safety, cost efficiency, and resident concerns.
The City of Greenville picked the route after collecting feedback from 860+ community members. A final public input meeting will be held later this year before the project moves to the engineering phase.

I loved seeing “The Great Gatsby” at the Peace Center this week. It’s been a great year (so far) of shows — with “Suffs” still holding strong as my favorite show and “The Outsiders” in second. I’m excited for “The Notebook,” which is up next. I saw it in New York and really enjoyed it.
