The International Transportation Innovation Center’s new 3-mile oval at SCTAC just scored two top awards for its construction.

Award

The SC Technology & Aviation Center’s 3-mile Oval Track at the International Transportation Innovation Center recently earned two honors: the 2025 Quality in Construction Award from the National Asphalt Pavement Association and the 2025 Quality Pavement Award from the South Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association.

Launched

The South Carolina Healthy Business Coalition launched in Greenville last week, aiming to boost workplace health and wellbeing. Building on Charleston’s Healthy Business Challenge, the initiative unites businesses, health professionals, and organizations. Leaders say healthy employees strengthen both businesses and communities. (Upstate Business Journal)

Bank of America announced that Stacy Brandon, president of its Upstate South Carolina market, will retire this Wednesday, April 1 after a 39-year career. Brandon, a Greenville native, has led the bank’s Upstate operations since 2015, growing market share, mentoring teams, and supporting local communities and nonprofits throughout the region. South Carolina’s $20 billion life sciences industry is the fastest-growing in the region, expanding 5.7% last year. With momentum across manufacturing, research, and universities, companies and investors have new opportunities to partner, hire talent, or supply services in a high-paying, fast-expanding sector, driving statewide economic growth. Wofford College has named John Paul “Jay” Dowd III as its twelfth president, effective July 1. Dowd, currently vice president for institutional advancement at The Citadel, brings 30 years of higher-ed fundraising experience and deep ties to Wofford, where he has previously co-chaired the Parents Leadership Council.
