A stronger gateway and arrival experience into downtown from the north
Enhanced pedestrian experience towards McPherson Park
280 apartments
~6,000 sqft of commercial space designed for food-oriented retail
~285 structured parking spaces concealed by street-level commercial spaces
The full development calls for two mixed-use buildings facing Main Street and one smaller residential building on Academy Street, but this approval is only for the first tower. The second and third phases will require additional approvals.
Greenville is considering new zoning rules to limit banks clustering too closely together. A proposed ordinance would prohibit financial institutions from opening within 300 ft of each other on high-traffic corridors, aiming to encourage more diverse businesses along roads like Augusta, Woodruff, and Wade Hampton. The City of Greenville is developing its first-ever parks, recreation, and tourism master plan, outlining a 10-year vision for green spaces, trails, and programming. Residents can share input on Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27 at Downtown Alive and Main Street Fridays, and at the Prisma Health Welcome Center on Thursday, March 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Canvas Coffee is brewing up something new at Greenville Center for Creative Arts. Starting Wednesday, April 1, the coffee brand will open a permanent station inside GCCA’s shop.

The People’s Tap has reopened after an 11-day closure caused by issues securing liquor liability insurance that meets new state requirements. Owners say coverage remains costly and difficult to obtain, saying that the problem could continue to impact small businesses across SC despite recent legislative changes. 🏀 The First Round of the NCAA Tournament in Greenville featured some of the most exciting games of the day. The teams advancing are in bold.
No. 9 TCU defeated No. 8 Ohio State 66-64, and it came down to the final seconds in typical March Madness fashion.
No. 16 Siena almost made history, but couldn’t see it across the finish. Despite leading the No. 1 Duke Blue Devils most of the game, they fell 71-65.
Legendary coach Roy Williams was at The Well to support No. 6 UNC, but they ultimately lost to No. 11 VCU after the Rams forced overtime with just 11 seconds left.
Of course,they couldn’t all be nail-biters with No. 3 Illinois securing a decisive victory over No. 14 Penn, 105-70.
