The Dating Deck

Pick one of the 10 designs to hand out. | Photos by Rebecca Langlands
My friend Rebecca is single in Greenville and over the apps, so she created The Dating Deck — 10 business-card-sized cards with a compliment on the front and space to share your number on the back.

“It’s a little bit less tacky than leaving a receipt paper on someone’s window or a scrap of paper,” she explains. “It’s cute, it’s fun — it’s like, ‘hey, I want you to have this. I hope it makes your day better,’ and if they’re not interested, it’s still just a compliment.”

Rebecca has only handed out one of her own cards, but despite the recipient living in another state, it was a hit — so we’re still calling it a 100% success rate.

Valentine’s Day weekend felt like the perfect time to let you know about this new Greenville-made product that spreads kindness and compliments, all in the name of finding the one.

Announced

Greenville’s long-awaited Wheelsports Park is officially rolling. Construction on “Wheels Up” begins early next year on the 10-acre site near the Downtown Airport. Expect a skatepark, pump track, bike playground, Swamp Rabbit Trail connections, shade, restrooms, public art, and more.

Civic

The Swamp Rabbit Trail won’t be extending through North Main after all. City leaders have scrapped plans to extend the trail past Other Lands and The Community Tap following mixed neighborhood feedback. Instead, officials say they’ll prioritize pedestrian and cyclist safety improvements at Rutherford Road and Wade Hampton Boulevard. (The Post and Courier Greenville)

Number

12,000+. That’s how many Greenville County Schools students receive special education — and now the district is mapping out improvements. Leaders are eyeing better parent communication, additional staff training, a new digital platform, and potentially a special education advisory council. (Greenville Journal)

Real Estate

Main-floor living minutes from downtown, this home just off Mills Avenue has no HOA, has been completely refreshed with a brand-new kitchen, and features a fenced-in yard shaded with mature trees. At 1,500 sqft with two bedrooms and two baths, the price tagjust 1.8 miles from Falls Park — caught our attention.

Coming Soon

The Picklr is bringing its first SC location to North Hills Shopping Center (by the Sprouts) this spring. The 25,000-sqft indoor facility will feature eight pro courts, leagues, lessons, and open play. We’ll dink to that. (Upstate Business Journal)

Greenvillian

A lifelong resident of one of Greenville’s first Black neighborhoods, Felsie Harris has championed affordable housing, safer streets, and thoughtful growth in Haynie-Sirrine — earning a street named in her honor. Learn more about her lasting legacy from the Greenville Journal.
Welcome to Little River Farms in Laurens — a turnkey farm and recreational retreat anchored by a 2023 custom-built 6-bedroom home. The Wrap

I’m headed to Charleston today, and because I read CHStoday (thanks, Callie!), I learned about a brand-new restaurant from one of my favorite SC chefs, and I snagged an opening-night reservation.
