A downtown transformation
Coming soon to Court Street. | Rendering by Gensler
Court Street could look completely different in the near future after design plans were approved to transform a private parking lot into an eight-story building. Designs for the new tower feature restaurant and retail on the street level, with plans to lease the seven other floors to office tenants.

The 0.4-acre parcel is right next to 300 E. McBee Ave. (home to Prisma Health, Lima One Capital, STIR, and others), which underwent a major renovation last year.
That’s not the only potential change: Last month, I told you the City of Greenville is thinking about turning part of East Court Street into a pedestrian-only area with an all-weather market and event structure between Main Street and Falls Street.
What do you think of the proposals to transform this area just off Main Street? Reply to this email and let me know.

Automatic Taco’s new Overbrook location is now open in the former Mr. Crisp space. Enjoy the tacos, cocktails, and other bites (like my favorite — the Crispy Brussel Sprouts with Auto Sauce) that you know and love from The Commons.
Closed
After two years in business, MooHogz Craft BBQ has closed its location at The Commons. The family- and veteran-owned spot began as a Hampton Station food trailer in 2022 before opening in summer 2024. Owners say the decision came down to what was sustainable for their family. Former Clemson golfer Jacob Bridgeman captured his first PGA Tour win at The Genesis tournament, finishing 18-under-par. The Chapman High standout secured the victory with a steady final round in Los Angeles. Congratulations, Jacob!(WSPA)

The fact that I’m just a few seasons away from a Shake Shack Shack Stack — say that three times fast — is bun-believable. The next time you’re driving on Woodruff Road, you’ll see the fencing up with the branding (near City Barbeque).
According to the local construction team that posted this video, they’re officially laying the groundwork (literally) for burgers, fries, and ice cream by this summer.
