This is your final boarding call ice update
This is oddly satisfying to watch. | Video by GSP
Roads are clearing, businesses are reopening, and life is returning to normal after Sunday’s ice storm. Be careful out there — there are still slick spots on roads as they refreeze overnight, especially on secondary roads.
Here’s one last round of updates to start your day — back to regularly scheduled programming tomorrow.
✈️ What did it take to get GSP back online after being closed to all arrivals and departures during the ice storm? Drone video captured the transformation.
🚜 In total, the City of Greenville’s public works department logged a total of 4,300 hours laying 1.37 million pounds of salt, 6,830 pounds of ice melt, and 6,800 gallons of brine. It put 7,820 miles on their vehicles. Thank you to all 361 of you!
📸 Last call to submit your photos for our gallery — think of it as a community scrapbook remembering the ice day fun.
There’s a chance for snow in the forecast Friday night into Saturday morning — no we aren’t kidding. “This time it’s an all-snow scenario and it doesn’t bring quite as much moisture with it so accumulations would be light,” FOX Carolina reports. It’s still early, but definitely keep an eye on the weather.
