An encore for the Greenville Arena District

New plans for Bon Secours Wellness Arena debuted before Greenville County leadership yesterday as three ordinances were introduced to help secure funding to make the project’s master plan a reality.

Here are the latest designs for the 12-acre campus:

Outdoor amphitheater

A sound study will be conducted. | Rendering by LS3P + Gensler

  • The proposal | A new 6,000- to 7,000-seat outdoor amphitheater
  • The “why?” | To position Greenville competitively with new and forthcoming amphitheaters in Raleigh, Richmond, and Birmingham + create natural routing opportunities for touring acts moving through the Southeast
  • The impact | Expected to host 25 to 30 touring concerts annually, plus 25+ community events, summer series programming, and other activations

Arena renovations

  • The proposal | Renovating the 15,500-seat arena to align with modern expectations for ADA accessibility, guest experience, artist amenities, and operational infrastructure
  • The “why?” | Back-of-house upgrades are critical for securing major events — like the SEC Women’s Basketball Championship and NCAA Tournament — which have a great economic impact (and save you money)
  • The impact | Improving circulation, adding restrooms, expanding ADA seating areas, and creating new food and beverage service areas

The lifesaving power of a simple act

A simple act. A powerful impact. Local lives depend on it. | Photos provided by The Blood Connection
Did you know? January is National Blood Donor Month, a time to recognize the everyday heroes who help save lives with a simple, selfless act: donating blood. At The Blood Connection (TBC), this month is dedicated to thanking donors and highlighting the critical role they play in supporting patients at local hospitals.

Winter can be one of the most challenging times to maintain a stable blood supply. Between holiday travel, seasonal illnesses, and unpredictable weather, donations often decline — yet the need for blood never slows down. Emergency procedures, cancer treatments, and chronic conditions rely on a consistent supply, no matter the season.

Thanks to generous donors, TBC continues to serve communities across the region and ensure hospitals have the blood they need when it matters most. Whether you’re a longtime donor or considering your first appointment, National Blood Donor Month is a powerful reminder: one donation can make a lasting difference.
