Wellness is in for 2026

From saunas to red light and Pilates to plunges, Greenville’s wellness scene is heating up (sometimes literally). Whether you want to feel stronger, sleep better, or simply slow down, here’s what’s trending in the wellness space and where you can try it.
Contrast therapy
What it is: Alternating between heat (like a sauna) and cold (like a plunge) exposures to stimulate circulation, reduce inflammation, and support recovery
Why it’s trending: Enhances athletic performance + helps with pain relief and overall wellness
Where to find it: Evolve | Brand-new at The Commons, this wellness studio offers contrast therapy, sauna, red light, massage, and fitness classes.
Red light therapy
What it is: Specific light wavelengths to boost collagen, reduce inflammation, and speed healing
Where to find it: LaterzaMD | In addition to offering LightStim Red Light Therapy, this new med spa will also open at The Commons in early 2026, offering laser treatments, injectables, fillers, trilift, and sexual health services.
Scalp health
What it is: Scalp treatments, therapeutic massages, clarifying exfoliation, and growth-focused modalities
Why it’s trending: According to the New York Times, this may be the new big beauty trend, with consumers “increasingly fixating on their scalps, turning to head spas, pricey treatments and products to combat thin hair and irritation.”
Where to find it: Solace Flow | This award-winning head spa specializes in scalp treatments, head spa rituals, and hair loss solutions — and offers the ASMR treatments you may have seen while scrolling.
Three Notch’d Craft Kitchen & Brewery is coming soon to the former Iron Hill space on Haywood Road. You can expect craft beers and brewery fare from the Virginia-based business when the spot opens this spring.

“This isn’t a goodbye, it’s a transition,” Tipsy Taco said as it closed its Greer location on Wade Hampton Boulevard on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant group partnered with Capri’s Italian Restaurant to open in the space next month. (WYFF 4)
Try This
Kick off the new year by dining local. Dine your way through Restaurant Week, January 8-18, and choose Fresh on the Menu restaurants where each restaurant is committed to sourcing at least 25% of its in-season ingredients from South Carolina farms.*
Mansion Monday
Calling all aviators. There are 20.75 acres for sale on Fork Shoals Road, featuring a unique private airstrip and a spring-fed creek. While it’s not a mansion, the property also features a three-bedroom “bunker-style” home, so you can live there while you develop your own personal airport.
Civic
Looking ahead to the end of 2026, a new firehouse will replace the 75-year-old one on Stone Avenue. Take a peek at the progress.

On Friday night, about 5 gallons of Duke’s Mayonnaise were poured on the winning coach of the annual Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte. We were there, not because we had a dog in the fight this year, but because we love Duke’s that much.
Before that mayo was poured in celebration, it was made right here in Greenville County. The Duke’s factory in Mauldin produces 1.1 million pounds of condiments per day. It’s primarily mayo, but they also make salad dressings, barbecue sauce, ketchup, mustard, relish, and more.
I treated myself to a scalp detox at Browning Studio in November, and it was the cleanest my hair has ever felt. Anna even gave me a list of suggested products and when to use them. I feel like it’s all made a huge difference in my hair health. If this is a trend, I’m very happy I hopped on the bandwagon.
