Civic

It’s almost done. Crews are testing color combinations at Unity Park’s new Thomas and Vivian A. Wong Honor Tower ahead of its Veterans Day debut. The 10-story, 125-foot landmark will feature a glass elevator and offer 360-degree views of Greenville.

Development

Goodbye, “Baby Bi-Lo.” The City’s Design Review Board just approved renovation plans for 505 N. Main — transforming the former shopping center into a modern retail hub with restaurants, shops, a grocer, and more. Next up: permitting and construction before “N. Main” (the development’s new identity) gets a new look.

Number

$60,000. That’s how much Greenville County Schools will spend on a feasibility study to explore charging homebuilders an impact fee for new construction. The fee could help offset the cost of new schools needed as Greenville County adds nearly 11,000 residents each year. Results are expected by March. (The Post and Courier Greenville)

The Wrap

I was right! On Friday, I told you why I thought George Strait was headed to Tigertown, and it’s official. “The King of Country Music” will headline the first Death Valley Nights concert at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium on May 2, 2026 — joined by Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores. It’s the first concert at Death Valley since 1999, when Strait last took the stage there, and the show is expected to draw 90,000 fans.
