South Carolina’s annual Tax-Free Weekend kicks off today and runs through Sunday, Aug. 3 — giving you 72 hours to snag eligible items (think: school-year essentials) without paying state or local sales tax.
Here’s what’s tax-free (regardless of price), whether new or used, and even for online purchases delivered into SC. Pro tip: We also found the FAQs helpful if we weren’t sure about something being tax-free.
Though this is a great excuse to shop at a big box store or finally buy that new laptop from Best Buy, it’s also a good reason to head out and shop local.
Bonus: Saturday, Aug. 2 is also Stationery Store Day. Double dip with giveaways and shopping specials at shops like Dear Greenville and Page & Post.
