The City of Greenville is actively planning a wheelsports park by the Greenville Downtown airport. The 10-acre site along the Swamp Rabbit Trail will feature a concrete skate park, an asphalt pumptrack, and a paved bicycle playground.

Starting July 28, part of the Swamp Rabbit Trail will close as crews prep for a new pedestrian bridge over Verdae Boulevard. The 1,180-ft bridge will cost $7.4 million and take about a year to build, paving the way for future trail expansion into Mauldin. (Greenville Journal)

The Greenville Zoo’s newest baby giraffe officially has a name: Kendi — Swahili for “loved one.” The name was chosen by popular vote, with 6,000+ community members participating in the poll. The zoo says the name couldn’t be more fitting for their beloved calf.
