À la Heart GVL, Greenville’s emergency fund for the hospitality industry, just earned national honors at the 2025 International Society of Hotel Associations Awards of Excellence in Rhode Island. The Greenville Jewish Film Festival’s SummerFest is back with its biggest lineup yet, kicking off Wednesday, Aug. 20 ahead of the main event Sunday, Aug. 24. Explore the lineup + mark your calendars because tickets go on sale Tuesday, July 22.

$30,000. That’s how much Everything Outdoor Fest just scored from Yamaha’s Outdoor Access Initiative to boost safe, sustainable off-road fun at its festival on Nov. 1 + Nov. 2 at Historic Hopkins Farm in Simpsonville. The grant will expand activities, gear rentals, signage, and education for attendees.
Legacy
Soby’s and Greenville’s hospitality community are remembering David “Face” Anctil, a beloved server at The 858 and Soby’s from 1993 to 2008, who died Thursday, July 10. “Your legacy will forever be etched in the fabric of Soby’s, hospitality, and the lives of so many that you made smile,” shared Carl Sobocinski in a tribute.

Goodwill’s new Clean Tech Accelerator Lab — the first of its kind in SC — opens Thursday, July 17 at the Goodwill on Sulphur Springs Road. The state-of-the-art hub will train locals for in-demand clean energy jobs like heat pump installation and EV tech.

The spotted lanternfly — an invasive pest — has been spotted in Greenville for the first time. According to experts at Clemson University, it threatens grapes, hops, fruit trees, and forests.
