Lace up those hiking boots, GVL. The South Carolina 7 (SC7) expedition team is hosting two fun and meaningful hikes this July — and you’re invited.
On Tuesday, July 8 at 9 a.m., join the team at Jones Gap State Park for a scenic four-mile hike through beautiful mountain woodlands. After the hike, ecologists from the SC Department of Natural Resources will lead an electrofishing demo, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how they study + protect our local waterways.
Then, on Wednesday, July 9 at 9 a.m., meet at the rabbit statue in Unity Park for a relaxing two-mile walk along the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Bonus: Dogs are welcome, so bring your furry hiking buddy along.
Whether you join one hike or both, it’s a great way to explore South Carolina’s natural beauty while learning about conservation, sustainability, and the benefits of spending time outdoors.
The US Department of Energy approved an emergency order allowing Duke Energy Carolinas to operate certain generators at max output through 10 p.m. tonight, June 25.
