Got a green thumb but nowhere to start? Greenville County has a community garden program, and some plots are still available. Though the season begins April 1 and runs through March 31, 2026, you can still reserve a space and get to growing.
Your $60 membership gets you a four-by-eight-ft raised bed in a fenced-in garden space with access to water and composting.
Pro tip: If the garden is full, send an email to secure a spot on the waitlist.
Want to start your own community garden? The Clemson Cooperative Extension has a guide to help you get started. You can also call on the Greenville Master Gardeners to support with basic gardening skills, site selection, soil testing and improvement, plot design and crop planning, pest and disease management, and irrigation.
