Yes, chef. The MICHELIN Guide has chosen Greenville as the host of its first American South Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 3, at The Peace Center.

The American South guide includes the Carolinas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee (and the pre-existing Atlanta Guide) + opens the door for local restaurants to earn MICHELIN Stars for the first time in history.

Greenville has housed Michelin North America’s headquarters for over 50 years, and although the guide is known globally, this event hopes to celebrate the connection between Michelin + the area it has impacted.

“We’re honored to welcome the MICHELIN Guide ceremony to a destination that truly values culinary craftsmanship,” said Heath Dillard, president and CEO of VisitGreenvilleSC in a press release.

More details about the event will be released in the coming months — and yes, it’s invitation-only. We didn’t want you sitting by your mailbox.

The Wrap

I just got back from my third-annual solo beach trip to Charleston. My husband is not a beach guy. While I was there, I met up with my coworker Maddy Lucas.

You’ve probably never seen her face (until now), but I can safely tell you she is invaluable to GVLtoday + 6AM City. She even made the cool Games module.

Yes, I know the photo is blurry. It was dark, and we did our best.
