Table 301 is teaming up with the Greenville Drive to bring a brand-new restaurant to the former Liberty Taproom + The Bellwether space: Lefty’s West End Tavern. This isn’t just a name on the roster — it’s a true partnership.

“We are just so excited to be partnering with, in a very true sense, the premier restaurant group in Greenville,” said Drive owner Craig Brown.

Slated to open early this summer — ideally before the seventh-inning stretch of the season — Lefty’s promises to be a sports bar that “cares about the food, cares about the drinks, and cares about you.”

We got a sneak peek at the menu, and it’s stepping up to the plate with swinging pretzels served with cheese, pulled chicken nachos piled high, smash burgers, and wings that’ll have you calling for extra innings.

Of course, Rallyville Lager — the official beer of the Greenville Drive — is on tap.

While the bones of the space will stay more or less the same, Table 301 is making some upgrades and building a team behind the scenes. It hopes to open by July 1 — just in time to catch the heart of summer baseball season.

May is National Water Safety Month — aka, the perfect time to teach your kids how to stay safe around water.

Drowning can happen almost anywhere with standing water (think: bathtubs and pools), so it’s important for your child to feel confident in all water situations.

Join the YMCA of Greenville on Saturday, May 31 for SPLASH Day, a free community event that teaches kids ages 3-12 essential water safety skills and the basics of swimming.

This event is open to everyone (no membership needed) and will be held at multiple YMCA locations across Greenville County.

The lessons are fun and hands-on, teaching kids how to stay close to an adult, check the depth before jumping in, and understand the importance of learning to swim.

Pro tip: Spots are limited, so be sure to sign up ASAP.

The Wrap

After a sneak peek of Lefty’s, I headed straight to the game, and the Drive pulled out an exciting win. With a big lead for the home team, the Spartanburgers scored seven in the top of the 9th to tie things up, but the Drive sealed the deal with a walk-off in the 11th. The only thing better than baseball is free baseball.

And, if you’re counting, that’s three straight wins over the I-85 foes.
