A new dining experience is coming soon

After years of planning, Table 301 says it will open a new fine dining restaurant this year with Chef Nico Abello at the helm.

The yet-to-be-named restaurant will take over the top floor of the space currently used by The Lazy Goat, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Reedy River. Don’t worry, The Lazy Goat isn’t going anywhere. The intimate, 50-seat eatery will go in the space currently used for private events. The Lazy Goat will remain open during the construction of the new restaurant, but it may close for a short time this summer for some interior updates and a kitchen renovation.

Abello — who has an impressive resume — opened L’Appart in Manhattan’s Le District in 2016. He was awarded a Michelin star for six consecutive years.

The restaurant will feature a chef’s tasting menu, but you don’t have to wait for the new restaurant to get a taste.

The Greenville Triumph + Liberty Soccer Clubs have a new home turf in the works after the organizations broke ground on Triumph Stadium at BridgeWay Station yesterday.

The 10,000-seat stadium is a development agreement with Hughes Investments at BridgeWay Station. It will be the permanent home for both soccer clubs and serve as a hub for community events like concerts, festivals, and youth sports.

Triumph Stadium is estimated to cost between $80 million and $100 million. It’s expected to open by summer 2026 — in time for the FIFA World Cup 26 coming to North America — and is poised to enhance Greenville’s efforts to become a sports tourism destination.

When I interview local chefs, I love to ask them where they’re going out to eat and what other chefs they’re watching. Chef Nico said, in addition to the chefs he’ll be collaborating with, he really loves watching the chefs he works with at Table 301 like Chef Kyle Swartzendruber at Soby’s, Chef Diego Campos at CAMP, Chef Greg Teal at The Lazy Goat + Chef Tanner Marino at Avenue. He says he’s always learning from those around him.
