💸 3 reasons to consider a financial planner for retirement

Planning for retirement looks different for everyone. Maybe you’ve put money away to travel (same), or you’re excited to invest in new hobbies in your Golden Years.
But what happens when things don’t go according to plan?
In addition to offering peace of mind, financial planners can help:
Determine how much you need in savings to meet your retirement goals
Manage risk when it comes to asset management and investments
Understand different types of retirement accounts and which one best fits your needs
Capital City Financial Partners has nearly a decade of experience helping thousands of families throughout the Carolinas build a roadmap to retire with confidence.
Exactly one month after Helene hit the Upstate, Paris Mountain State Park reopened. Park Rangers, volunteers, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted with clean up efforts. The campground, day-use areas, and picnic shelters are all open, but trail access is restricted to hiking and remains limited.
Civic
Greenville-Spartanburg is the fastest-growing metro region in the fastest growing state in the US. That’s according to a new report from commercial real estate company Colliers, which analyzed tax return data from the IRS and found our area’s net migration rate (think: people moving here) more than doubled during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Development
As part of the ongoing effort to revitalize a portion of Laurens Road, The City of Greenville plans to create a tax increment financing district. If approved by City Council, Greenville could use additional property tax revenue to fund public infrastructure projects within the 223-acre district from Haywood Road to Verdae Boulevard. (Greenville Journal)
In case you missed it, Bank of America Fall For Greenville dropped its updated lineups for music and food after it was postponed due to Helene. The festival will take place Friday, Nov. 8 to Sunday, Nov. 10.
Real Estate
A home with some of the best views in Greenville, located atop Paris Mountain at 1253 Altamont Rd., is today’s Mansion Monday feature. Listed at $2,300,000, this home boasts custom water features, a two-tier deck, a media room, and a sauna. Plus, it’s a natural-light dream with massive windows to show off the unbeatable views.
Featured
After working to restore power across our area and at YMCA Camp Greenville, lineman stopped at Pretty Place for a moment of rest, and the story was featured in Southern Living. Reminder: Pretty Place remains closed.
Seasonal
Happy Halloweek. There are plenty of events taking place this week for you to celebrate, including a lineup of special programming at Greenville County Library System branches.
Drink
Sip, sip, hooray. Two of our favorites — daydrinkers + Pangaea — came together for a collaboration brew. Sip on the “daydrinkers Double Shot,” a coffee blonde ale dry hopped with a daydrinkers coffee blend, Madagascar vanilla beans, and Carolina-grown malted oats.
Eat
What’s better than handing out full-size candy bars? Handing out scoops of Clare’s ice cream. From now until Halloween, stop by either location to pick up 10 scoop cards for $25.
Real Estate
This workspace really wows. The Franklin, conveniently located in downtown’s East Park Historic District, offers spacious and sunlit private executive offices, client meeting spaces, free parking + countless amenities to help your business grow. Psst… Leases are available. See inside.*

Much of this newsletter was written while in line for early voting. We’ve reported on the record turnout already, but the poll manager told me this is his fifth presidential election and they’re definitely seeing long lines. They kept the line moving, though.
