A cutting-edge facility for health care education debuts
Presented by a GVLtoday Partner
The new building was named the Prisma Health Center for Health & Life Sciences, thanks to a $1.5 million gift from Prisma Health, SC’s largest health care organization + the top employer of Greenville Tech grads. | Rendering provided by Greenville Technical College + Harper General Contractors
The project team includes award-winning architecture firm McMillan Pazdan Smith, JMZ Architects, and Harper General Contractors.
At 137,000 sqft, this building is the largest on any of the college’s eight campuses and special education centers.
Impacting students + the community
About 90% of Greenville Technical College students will take general education courses in the facility. It will also be a key resource for the 500-600 health science grads that the college sends into the local workforce each year. Think: Medical assistants, radiologic and MRI technologists, and more.
What’s inside
The unique three-story building puts learning on display with science labs, an Anatomage lab with virtual dissection tables, and more. It also houses medical imaging, ultrasound and radiological technology suites, a mammography X-ray lab, study cubicles, and conversation rooms.
Scout’s Doughnuts announced some sweet news: It’s opening a second Greenville location next month. The location is currently under wraps, but you can drop your guesses on this Instagram post with a sneak peek of the space.
Eat
Speaking of Scout’s… Fall flavors return next week, including the fan-favorite from last year — “Not Yo Mama’s Apple Pie” — filled with homemade apple jelly + topped with white chocolate ganache.
Get ready to tickle the ivories because a new “Please Play Me Piano” is coming soon to the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport from local artist Erika DeRoberts. It will be unveiled this fall.
Plan Ahead
Here we go again. Girl Dinner is back at Curean with a “Mamma Mia” networking event on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Get tickets for a night filled with ABBA tunes, Greek small bites, and a build-your-own bouquet bar.

Shouting this from the rooftops: LolaCeli is worth the hype. This pop-up is seafood and vegetable focused with Filipino influences. The 10-course dinner I ate at Curean on Tuesday night was a meal I will never forget. Grab a seat at the next table if you can.
