A Message From Our Team

Happy Fifth of July. We were a bit distracted by yesterday’s fireworks and clicked send too soon. If this email looks familiar, let’s call it two for the price of one. Scroll down to the Wrap for a little bonus: A list of our favorite vintage shops.

Slow month? No problem

Beat the boredom during the slower months in Greenville with this guide

Greenville feels like it’s always bustling, so it can come as a shock when there are less events on our calendar. July tends to be one of those slower months in our city, so we put together a list of things to do when there isn’t an event to attend.

Free things to do

Who else’s city has a list of fun, free things to do on its official site? We’re not sure, but ours does. Find the Mice on Main, check out our public artwork, or visit one of our parks.

Our friends at Kidding Around Greenville also put together a list of 30+ free things to do with your kiddos.

Do a craft

There are plenty of places to get your craft on in Greenville. Partake in a sip and paint night at Vino and Van Gogh or build your own terrarium at Sun and Soil Plant Parlor.

Take a hike

Soak in nature and get outside (but make sure you have plenty of water + sunscreen) with our hiking guide.

Go tubing

Cool off with a splash at one of these tubing locations and beat the heat. We don’t recommend trying this in January. Mostly because it’ll be cold, but also because most of these places will be closed.

Visit a museum

If going outdoors isn’t your thing, spend some time in the AC at one of our local museums. Pro tip: The Upcountry History Museum has a Star Wars exhibit right now.

Play some games

Grab your putter (figuratively, they have them there) and head to Group Therapy Pub & Playground for a round of indoor putt putt, throw some axes, or try indoor curling.

Are you a puzzle solver? Try an escape room at Escape Artist Greenville or Breakout Games.

We’re reaching new heights. BlocHaven — an indoor rock-climbing gym located in Judson Mill — now has five new auto-belay lines.

What’s an auto-belay line?

If you’ve been climbing before, you know it’s important to have a partner that helps retract + release your climbing rope. An auto-belay line eliminates the need for another person by doing that automatically.

Now, you can grab a coffee from the cafe, take a yoga class, and climb the wall, with or without a partner.
