  • The Art in Public Places Commission (APP), the Planning Commission, the Design Review Board, and the Historic Review Board have some openings that have your name on them. The deadline to apply is Thursday, Feb. 1.

  • City Council voted to own + maintain the 0.3 miles of the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail from Hollingsworth to Legacy Park. These 0.3 miles add a direct connection to the greenline extension + a ribbon cutting is scheduled for early February. On your left.

  • The Upcountry History Museum is getting aquatic with its new exhibit “Narwhal: Revealing an Arctic Legend” thanks to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History and its Arctic Studies Center. Starting Saturday, Feb. 3, you can learn about these creatures by listening to soundscapes + touching a replica narwhal tusk. (Greenville Journal)

  • Grab the popcorn. The Greenville Jewish Film Festival announced a new movie concept called “The POP-UP.” On Sunday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. you can head to Camelot Cinemas — located at 48 E. Antrim Dr. — and watch Avi Nesher’s “The Monkey House” + get a bag of popcorn and a drink for $18.
