It’s a new year, GVL, and we’ve been thinking about how best to set the tone and commit to better routines at home and at work this year.
We asked top local real estate broker/owner Joan Herlong to share her top professional lessons from 2023 to help guide us to a productive, happier + more meaningful 2024.
Here’s what she had to say:
Lead with honor, advocacy, and expertise.
Constantly build relationships and nurture them.
Build out a strong business plan.
Commit to always learning.
Pivot and adapt when necessary.
Find the joy in everyday moments — and don’t forget to laugh and have fun.
We were curious and asked our readers where they were from. We plan to share more later, but wanted to highlight some in the meantime.
“Born and raised in the 864, never leaving, best city in the country!” — Cristina W.
“My wife and I are transplants from just outside of Rochester, NY. We moved here due to a job transfer, and love it.” — Steve P.
“Dallas, TX. My wife and I had spent many years traveling around trying to decide where we would like to retire someday — we were still in our 50s and planning ahead. Someone mentioned we should check out Greenville, SC. I began to do a real estate search in Greenville, and a house became available that was everything we wanted. We bought the house off the internet and hadn’t yet It took us three years, but we finally moved here in 2022 and love it.” — Dawn E.
